Dr. Bishun Dayal Prasad Patel

Dr. Bishun Dayal Prasad Patel is the head of Department of Dravyagun Vigyan (Materia medica & Pharmacology)  of Ayurveda Campus and Teaching Hospital under Tribhuvan University in Nepal. His academic activities are concentrated on interactive lecture delivery in class and field-based teaching and learning. His researches are focused on clinical trials of Ayurvedic medicines and its derivatives; understanding medicinal plant-based pharmacology (Herbal pharmacology), Pharmacovigilance of Ayurvedic medicines, indigenous knowledge documentation, classical literatures survey; cultivation, sustainable conservation and utilization of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) in Nepal. He has published 30 research articles, two text books and also contributed two chapters in reference books published from renowned publishers in the abroad; and led dozens of national and international research projects. He is also associated with more than 10 national and international peer-reviewed scientific journals of Ayurveda and medical sciences as editorial board member, associate editor, editor and reviewer since five years. He is member secretary of Research Management Cell of this campus since three years.
